“If it was easy, everyone would do it.”

It’s not easy being a stay at home mom. Little fingers, little kisses, big old dog, lots of mess...it’s exhausting but amazing. And…monotonous at the same time. What makes being a stay at home mom harder for me personally is the fact that I gave up a promising military career, my home, my material possessions, my name, my body – all to keep my small family together. I think I miss my career most. My kids are worth it, I just miss…the escape? The intellectual stimulation? Ah yes, and I miss the income.

From the narrow myopic lens of my computer screen, it seems like so many moms are able to turn their insight and lessons learned into mommy blog riches, multi-level marketing success, and book publishing deals. Guess what? Not me. I was Little Miss Perfect as a child and teen. Excellent grades, elementary essay contest winner, undergrad was a breeze, completed my Master’s degree in Public Administration from Kent State University while on maternity leave with a newborn on my breast. I’ve currently managed to forge a decent USAF Reserve career but haven’t broken out to really follow my passions. Little miss fiercely entrepreneurial ME cannot even get more than 50 “followers” on my twitter account! My blog has failed before it even began! Or…did it?

If you’re reading this, than my blog is limping along and somehow I’ve convinced someone to read it. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for joining me on this journey. At some point this blog may be the confessions of a failed mommy blogger…but until then, thank you for being part of my entrepreneurial dreams and my new intellectual creative outlet: my blog! If it was easy, everyone would do it - but I'm not "everyone" so I will just be me and have fun with it.
