Everyone needs sleep, right? Our bodies will naturally regulate sleep on their own, its just the scent of some herbs soothe and ease body and mind aromatically. There are many essential oils that have calming and relaxing qualities. Bergamot, Lavender, and Cedarwood are often considered must-have oils to keep on hand due to their calming and relaxing properties. Juniper Berry, Frankincense, Vetiver and Sandalwood also help many relax. Just remember that Bergamot is rich in furanocoumarins, so do not wear it (even diluted) into the sun because its classified as phototoxic and you'll sunburn. EndFragment
To help my kids relax, I shut off all electronics roughly 2 hours before bedtime. I run the diffuser downstairs about 3 hours before bed, while I make sure everyone bathes upstairs. Then we have book time and cuddles. If they're exceptionally energetic, I give them a back rub with lavender, juniper berry, and cedarwood essential oils diluted to a 1% ratio in fractionated coconut oil. It usually works like a charm, especially when the boys had a very stimulating day.
Hope this helps you and that you enjoy the image I made!
